Description

Located in Connecticut Lakes State Forest, adjacent to the Connecticut River between Second and Third Connecticut Lakes, Deer Mountain Campground is just five minutes south of the Canadian border and 13 miles from Lake Francis. It is adjacent to the stretch of Route 3 north of Pittsburg, referred to as Moose Alley, which makes it a prime location for moose viewing. The 25-site primitive campground with 24 sites available by reservation and one for first-come/first-served campers. Each site has a fireplace, picnic table, flat area for a tent, and a parking space.
Deer Mountain Campground provides a great base for organized youth groups that want to explore the north country. Reservations for youth group camping are required and be made by callilng 603-271-3556 ext 402.

Alerts and Important Information

SITE FEE COVERS 2 ADULTS AND UP TO 4 CHILDREN. FOR EACH ADDITIONAL ADULTS A FEE OF $10 PER NIGHT AND FOR EACH ADDITIONAL CHILDREN FEES OF $5 PER NIGHT ARE TO BE PAID UPON ARRIVAL.

  • Winter camping till mid-December weather permitting, no plowing. (No water after mid-October).
  • NO hook up sites at this campground.
  • Payment at time of reservation covers 2 adults and up to 4 children. Additional adults and children pay at check in.
  • Prime location for Moose Viewing.

  • Sites accommodate a maximum of 6 people, combination of adults and children with no more than 4 adults per site No out of state firewood allowed in NH State Parks

    From I-93: Exit 35 onto Route 3 North. Follow Route 3 to Pittsburg. Then follow signs to Deer Mountain Campground.
    From I-95: Take Route 16 west to Route 26 west to Route 3 in Colebrook. On route 3 follow signs to Deer Mountain Campground.
